Massachusetts RMV Branches Closed To Registration Renewal Processing

To Our Valued Clients:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic RMV branches will NOT process 2020 registration renewals for trailers and commercial vehicles.  This means we can no longer have our runner take your registration renewals to the RMV Branch for you without resulting in significant delays.  Any registration renewals taken to the RMV Branch will be repackaged at the Branch and sent to the RMV Headquarters for processing.

There are several faster alternatives.  Most renewal registrations do not require an insurance stamp.  If an insurance stamp is not required:

Renewing online is the easiest and quickest way to renew registrations.  You can renew all units at once and with one payment.  Using this link https://atlas-myrmv.massdot.state.ma.us/myrmv/_/ , depending whether the unit is registered personally or commercially, you would enter your personal information, or click continue as a business and enter your business information.

If you prefer not to renew online, mailing your registration renewals directly into the RMV headquarters, along with payment, would be the best option.  A return address envelope should be included with your registration renewal with the following address:

Registry of Motor Vehicles
Attention: Mail-In Registration Dept.
PO Box 55891
Boston, MA 02205-5891

Whether you choose to mail directly to the RMV Headquarters or drop off at an RMV Branch to be forwarded to the RMV Headquarters follow the attached instructions from the RMV to be sure your work is processed without delay.  Be certain to attach a check made out to the MASS DOT and in the exact amount of all fees.

Please note, you will not receive a renewal application and you will not be able to renew your registration if:

  • Your vehicle/trailer registration is suspended or revoked, or
  • You have unpaid parking tickets, excise tax, or E-ZPass violations

Check your vehicle registration status here https://www.mass.gov/how-to/check-the-status-of-your-vehicle-registration to confirm whether your registration is eligible to renew.  After satisfying any unpaid parking tickets, excise tax, or E-ZPass violation, you can try renewing online.

If you cannot renew online, contact Jaimie (Ext 138) or Robin (Ext 147) and we will do our best to resolve the issue or get instructions on how to proceed.

Sincerely,
DeSanctis Insurance Agency, Inc.

PS: Don’t forget to include your 2290 form for any Commercial vehicle over 55,000 lbs. renewing in December.
